In November 2024, BULK Space Media Lab hosted Co-Curators Timothy Belknop and Logan Cryer of Ice Box Project Space in Philidelphia.
Icebox Project Space is an innovative and experimental contemporary arts platform where visual artists, musicians, film makers, and performers are able to work, think, and collaborate within a uniquely large scale and open structure.
Originally from the Metropolitan Detroit area, but currently based in Copenhagen Denmark, Adrienne is a self taught photographer and filmmaker who has been practicing photography for over eight years and experimenting with film for the past two. Currently she is working on an ongoing film project titled Homeland, which she has showcased in collaboration with Bulk Space, a Detroit Artist Collective, at Juxtapose Art Fair in Aarhus Denmark, and at a group show titled Diaspora Dreams in Copenhagen Denmark.
While in Residence, Adrienne hosted "Memories of A Place", a three week workshop focusing on using archives as a medium for self expression in experimental filmmaking.
McKinney is a video installation artist who blends abstract video-making techniques with motion graphics and animated vignettes to create immersive depictions of fluid landscapes and bodies in motion. Their work often bridges visual art and performance, as video installations are paired with collaborative music performances, evolving into dynamic live video-music events.
In 2022, Kris curated their first video music series, Rapture, during their Ideation Residency at BULK Space. Since then, they have organized a variety of creative gatherings, collaborating with video artists and musicians from cities including Detroit, Chicago, Atlanta, and Philadelphia.
Maya Davis is a Fine Artist and Arts Educator from Lansing, Michigan and currently based in Detroit, MI. Currently Davis is completing a BFA from the College for Creative Studies majoring in Art Practice and the K-12 Art Education Certification program. Maya is currently represented by Spaysky Fine Art Gallery LLC (Detroit, MI) and has exhibited through Bulk Space (Detroit, MI), Holding House (Detroit, MI), Art Mile Detroit (Virtual) and curated multiple exhibitions through the U245 Gallery (Detroit, MI). Davis has been published by The Studio Museum of Harlem, Anhelo Anhelo Press (Detroit, MI), and worked in education and programming at The Studio Museum (Harlem, NY), Wasserman Projects (Detroit, MI), Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit (Detroit, MI), and Project Art USA (Detroit, MI).
Cyrah Dardas Is a Queer, ecological and transcendental visual artist, care worker and ceremonialist living in Detroit/Waawiyaatanong, Anishinaabe territory. Her art practice is an invitation to remember the forgotten networks between humans and the earth to heal our collective body, compost grief, and restore interdependency. Her art is informed by the work she does in arts education, land stewardship, youth collaboration, as a member of the artist cooperative Portal, and through her work with natural fibers, earth pigments, and botanical inks. Her practice is deeply rooted in process + ritualizes eco-social art-making as a tool for personal and collective liberation.
