In 2022 we were able to provide $1,000 mini grants to 24 Detroit based artists with the support of Red Bull. We saw, first hand, the direct impact of providing financial support to artists that can be used in the ways that serve them best.
For BULK Space, art and culture are at the center of our mini grant program. We truly believe that by providing direct resources to creatives based in Detroit we are aiding in the sustainability of our overall arts ecosystem.
Mini grants supported the diverse artistic practices of marginalized Detroiters highlighting disciplines such as dance, media based arts, theater, poetry, and traditional fine arts.
The culmination of the mini grant program celebrated each participating artist via BULK Salon which was held at our then King Street location in 2023.
Bulk Space Mini Grants provided :
- 12 Detroit-based artists with unrestricted $1000
- 12 Art Workers and Practitioners with unrestricted $1000
- Opportunities to share projects through Bulk Space social channels
